I Capuccini Convent Hotel in Rome
The Casa I Capuccini is one of the most attractive convent-hotels in Rome. Its location is unbeatable, right on Via Veneto, and while maintaining a convent-style charm it provides the amenities of a quality guesthouse.
It was opened in 2013 and is located within the complex of the Convent of the Frato Minori Capuccini brothers. The Capuchin Monks have occupied this convent since 1631. The church and crypt-cemetery remain from those times and make for a very interesting visit as they contain skeletal remains of Capuchin friars dating back hundreds of years.
The monks wear a characteristic dress: brown habits with the hoods from which the name of the Franciscan order derives. The church is worth a visit for its beautiful decoration and to see the burial sites of Saint Felix of Cantalice and Saint Crispin of Viterbo.
The guesthouse has rooms available with all mod cons: private toilet, TV, air conditioning, fridge, safe and internet connection via LAN. It also has a spacious conference hall. It is open 24 hours per day.
It is located at Vía Veneto 21, very near Piazza Barberini. The Piazza de Spagna is just a few minutes’ walk away and the area around the convent is home to some of the best shopping areas in the city.
